Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes!

Well, I have decided that I DETEST the current URL of my blog. So from now on, if you'd like to see my updates on my CURRENT life, please head to...

legrandebouffe.blogspot.com

It was the name of my old blog's URL, and I prefer it.

Never fear, though, I will keep the blog NAME the same! Out of the fridge/Into the fire will keep running. Just make sure to visit the current one by clicking on the link above.

Lots of love to all blogsters out there,

Catherine

Update for the week

Well, yesterday I was looking through random peoples' blogs and I came across one written by a girl who I think was in the Phillippines. On her blog I found this fantastic quote she had posted, and I'd like to share it with you so here it is:

"Cowardice asks the question, 'Is it safe?'Expediency asks the question,'Is it politics?'Vanity asks the question,'Is it popular?'But, conscience asks the question, 'Is it right?'And there comes a time when one must takea position that is neither safe, nor politic,nor popular but one must take it because one's conscience tells one that it is right."
-Martin Luther King, Jr.
I found that quote really inspirational, so I hope you like it too.
In other news, today, I hope, is my last day off school as I'm almost better from my cold. Thank God!
This morning, mum and I weren't too happy with each other because she was complaining to me that she couldn't work because she doesn't have the time, and then telling me to mind my own business. It annoyed me so I asked her how we were going to keep going without some more money in the flow, and of course none of us knows any alternative. For now, I suppose I'll just have to find my own job and see how I handle it.
Also, I'm on the hunt for a great dress for this year's dance! Oh my gosh, a real school dance! Some girls at school are complaining about it not being a proper formal but for God's sake, we're only in year 10 and who cares, anyway. I prefer costumes to heavy dresses anyhow. But just so you know, my plan is to go as a flapper- dress, highheels, hat, hair, makeup and all.
I wonder if by then I'll have someone ( a boy) to ask to go with me?
And lastly, I'm really looking forward to this coming weekend. My community's going to have our Handing-Back convivence!! I have the feeling it's going to be really good.
So, I'd better get off my arse and wash my hair and do my maths assignment.
Aurevoir until next time,
Catherine

Not such a good day!

Ugh the past couple of days haven't been so good, especially today.

I've got the most abominable cold and I feel like a pile of crap, and it really sucks. Plus I've got no energy because of it. And I'm missing out on a lot of school!

And also, Grandma (mum's mum) is fast losing her memory. She's got obsessive compulsive disorder as well, and after mum got off the phone today she was really upset. She kept on saying how she's going to have OCD when she's old too, but I told her that was a load of rubbish and if it started we would be heading for help straight away.

Aye aye aye, what will I do? Hopefully life comes out of these phases after not too long, cos this isn't fun. Not at all.

Photos!

My famed fairy-wing cupcakes .

A picture from a series of T-Shirts, I think they're called i-Scream.

And more coming soon!

You'd Never Have Known...

Ok, first PROPER post, here! And on the same day, too! Lucky reader you.

Well, I am just about to reveal something to you. I am actually sort of vain. At least, I think I am, because I always think maybe my hair's ruined, or my makeup's done for, and check in whatever reflective surface I can find to make sure it isn't.

And guess what happened this afternoon? As I admired how wonderful my hair looked today in the reflective plastic of the microwave oven door, I placed my hand upon a knob nearby to steady myself. Anyway, as I did those two rather complicated tasks simultaneously, I consequently fell back and slipped along the kitchen floor in a rather undignified fashion, knocking my hair all over the place anyway. There's vanity for you, people. I'm trying to rid myself of it.

And from that moment on, blahdy, blahdy blah... you know the rest!

So yup, update for the day. Bye bye now.

Welcome!

Hi, my name's Catherine and welcome to my blog. Here I'll put a weekly, or sometimes more frequent update on what's what around here.

A quick low-down on me:

People-

Many types.
~~~~~~~~~~~
Music-
The Cops, The Custom Kings, Architecture in Helsinki, OK Go, Silverchair... and most things on Triple J!
~~~~~~~~~~~

Eye Candy-

Frankie magazine (Heaven sent!), the Canberra Times, The Good Weekend Magazine, The Australian, books by Eoin Colfer, Anthony Horowitz, Garth Nix and J.K Rowling, and many other thousands of things...

~~~~~~~~~~~
Things to do-
Talk.
Go for a walk at that moment on a summer's afternoon when the air is cool and the sun is setting.
Watch a really good film.
Settle down for a night of classic films! (I love classic films).
Toast marshmallows.
Eat sweet things, such as Fairy-wing cupcakes (I make the best).
Experience another culture.
Click with someone new.
Listen to Triple J.
Spell things.
Listen to peoples' stories.
Play an instrument with FINE SKILL!
Have a crush like me too.
Laugh with good friends.
Dream.
Sleep.
(Yes, I know what you're thinking- dreams and sleep go together, duh. I just chose to put them separately. I'm weird that way.)
Oh, and lastly, I love to make things (artistic) and write poetry. I'm most inspired when I have strong feelings running through my mind... like being in love, or anger. It has to be extreme!
So, if you choose to follow my thoughts etc. through this blog, enjoy! Don't forget to leave a message/comment, I like getting them.
Love,
The one and only,
Catherine
